Many pubs don't have a website. The main reason for this is that pub owners feel they do not need a website. The logic is often summed up in the statement: “My customers don't use the internet.” Well the number of people using the internet every day is growing very rapidly. In the third quarter of 2004, 52 per cent of households in the UK (12.9 million) could access the Internet from home. Well those statistics would suggest they may! Damn lies and stats! But an internet site has several purposes. It helps build a community around that site: it is a poster board and a place to display menus: and it can bring you new customers. Those are three very simple things a pub site can do!

The objective of goodpubs.org is to promote pubs with internet sites. A pub site listed here will be seen by people surfing the site (looking at it). That will bring extra custom to your pub. We can guarantee that! How many customers and when we do not know. But that is a small portion of the benefit an address on the world wide web. Once you have an internet site you can endorse yourself: put up your menu, promote special events, even put your own views across. Simply display your site address in prominent places and thus encourage customers to use the site.

Option 1 : We can offer you a simple address connected to goodpubs and a 4-page site as per our templates. The address will be www.goodpubs.org/pubs/yourpubname. That will be £100 to set up and for the first year, with four revisions a year. The second year and onwards will be £50 with five updates. See example

Option 2: We can offer you a website that is totally your own with your own .co.uk address. We will provide 6-page website from our templates with various optional plug ons including a webboard. This will be hosted by us and maintained including bi-monthly updates. This will be £200 in the first year and £90 per year for maintenance including bi-monthly changes. This site will have its own control panel and ftp access. This site will be based on the option 1 website plus a links page for local businesses and association etc. and a extra page of your choice.
